Born into a musical household, Alessia Labate was first discovered as a contestant on the Italian talent show Io Canto, at the age of 12, where she duetted with Peter Cincotti and James Blunt and worked alongside a professional orchestra; right after the show she toured Italy’s arenas, started writing both in English and Italian and at 17 she participated in The Voice of Italy. These high-profile experiences genuinely shaped Labate’s approach to creating music and helped pave the way for her to enter “CET – Scuola di Mogol”, a prestigious songwriting school. After graduating high school, Labate moved to Rome and then to Milan to make music full-time. Following the release of her debut single in January 2019, she signed to a NY-based management company and started traveling to collaborate with producers and songwriters from around the world while simultaneously launching a steady stream of releases, mostly EDM and Pop. As an EDM vocalist and songwriter she’s been widely supported by editorial playlists and leading EDM outlets such as LA Weekly and We Rave You and radio shows such as Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio and Martin Garrix Radio. Labate’s first live performance of her new songs was at the Unlock Festival, a charity festival put up by the NBCUniversal volunteers to raise money for the Prince’s Trust Charity Initiative “Million Makers” aiming to help young people fund their future. She recorded her live set at home performing her favorite releases from 2020.
In the last 2 years she featured in Billboard, nss G-Club, Alfietude, Earmilk, LA Weekly, Popwrapped and more.
